Art for Missions

Well, I think it is time to clear the decks a bit, artisitically speaking, hopefully to make room for more creativity in the future. To that end I have donated nearly all of the pictures from my show this past Spring to my brother's church to be auctioned off to help their youth group go to Mexico.

If you are interested in any of these pieces (framing included) you may want to attend the shindig tomorrow night at 7pm. There will be pies for tasting and some music as well. This is a silent auction with prices starting somewhere around $15 to $20 for my work. There will also be some other items from local merchants up for auction (rounds of golf etc.).

Now, the trick is that the "local" part in the last sentence refers to Godfrey, Illinois, so getting to the church it is a bit of trek. But you could always make it a bit of an adventure. That part of Missouri/Illinois is lovely. Maybe check out the bird sanctuary just before you go over the cool Clark bridge or take a zip down the River Road. Both of these have recently been reclaimed from floodwaters. And for dinner? Well, may be this is the day to try out the Fat Eddie burger or the Big Elwood on a Stick at one of the most famous bars in America.

Alternately, if you are not able to come and would like to bid on a piece, I would be happy to place bids for you. Just email me and let me know what you want your maximum bid to be and I will see if you win it..

The pictures in their frames can be previewed here. A clearer view of the pictures themselves, along with their titles, can be viewed from the first link on this page. Pictures not for sale are "Dying Glory," "Falling Leaf" (though I may try to work up another copy of that one before tomorrow), and "Creation...Fall...Redemption...Consummation." Plus, also, I hope to have the third shot on this page (in a large size) and this (8" x 10") framed by tomorrow as well.

Claire, thanks. I really like that picture too. Sad to say, I have not been to Fast Eddie's either. And I used to work in the area.
