I like these. Is that wood shaped like a rooftop or is it just the striations that make it look like it is?

Thanks, Heidi. But which do you like better?
Actually that apple is just on our kitchen table and so everything is flat, though I see what you mean. I was photgraphing the apple anyway. Hopefully that does not sound weird, but its intact leaf was appealing to me. Then there was this high contrast situation with such a sharp line and I could not resist using it symbolically like this.

I'm quite taken by the color shot. Often, it's hard to enjoy a black and white photo when it's juxtaposed with its colorful counterpart. Now, if the black and white apple were on it's own I would enjoy it much more. This is true for the cat photo-I prefer the black and white cat BUT I may not have if I had seen the color and black and white shots side by side.

Definitely color! To me, I prefer black and white when it highlights the forms/contrast and the actual colors do not add that much to the photo. To me, that glossy red adds quite a bit, so I like to keep it.
