A Counter
I have long resisted the temptation to have a counter on this blog. I once had one for 10 minutes, but then realized that it would not be good for me, personally, to have the ability to see which IP address a visitor was coming from, trying to figure out who it was, and seeing how often people visited. Admittedly, that all is pretty cool, but not for me, and so I took it off. More intriguing features of many counters include the ability to see from which site a person came to your blog from or which search terms he or she used to find your blog.
Today, I saw this counter, though, that shows hits by country and counts the overall numbers of visits. In the little exploring I have done of the site, I do not see where I can access the features above, so, though, I was going to try to live with them, i.e. using them moderately, I am content that they are not even there. It will be cool, though, to get raw, overall numbers and see where visitors are coming from. And, if any of this becomes problematic, well, I know how to take it off.
So, enjoy the little flags on the bottom right. Hopefully we will get some interesting ones.

I am NOT a fan of those blog counters/trackers--as you know. I find them frustrating because people like myself look like stalkers! It's just an office job issue; I'm not obsessed with blogs really! Honestly, I do look forward to reading blogs, and often do it first thing in the morning. With that said, I refuse to put a tracker on mine. I mean, I already know who reads my blog, because they either comment or refer to in later conversations. That's good enough for me. And if I don't know them, it might creep me out if they visit too often.
P.S. I think it would be neat to add the brick wall window reflection photo to Pied Beauty. It's incredible.
P.S.S. While we’re on the topic of blogs I would love for you to take my quiz? ;)

You are safe, Claire. No more shakes for a while, though there may be some wriggling around on the hard drive, waiting to give people little snaky licks :)
