One Great Song: Three Versions
The original (brilliant music; brilliant video; a single touch makes it all worthwhile). A cover on Prozac. A cover that's off it's meds (really clever and gets more amazing as it goes along, until, that is, its crazy ending).
As a bonus, here is one of my favorite videos ever from the man who brought you the Prozac version above. I doubt that it is a single take or anything like, but it's beautiful and bears a fuller discussion than I can begin on my own just now. Oh, and pay attention or just watch it thrice.
Who said this was only a photoblog. I will have several pieces on exhibit, and will also be giving a five minute talk as well.

I appreciate the ingenuity of Ben Folds, but I prefer the original. Iron and Wine's version is special because they shift the mood by going acoustic, and singing with a more resigned tone. More somber, less dreamy, less hopeful seems to work with well the lyrics.
And I adore that Iron and Wine video! Gorgeous

Heidi, I agree with all your assessments. I very likely should have not described the Iron and Wine one as being on Prozac. I think a better metaphor might work.
On an unrelated note, I miss our little Golden Age of Blogging (GAB for short) which we had amongst the blogs of our friends last year with so many posts and comments. Sigh. I suppose this pace is really more realistic though.
