Thunderhead from the Park

A couple of weeks ago, after some stirring games of racquetball, I walked with David Lim over to the Muny, and despite my general sweaty and stinkiness which seemed to stand out all the more for walking amongst fresh Muny goers, I persisted in getting some shots of this stunning cloud before heading to home and cleanliness. Now, that's dedication to one's art.

I need to get a better photo editing program so I can work on the dark bits of the picture whilst leaving the light bits alone. These look fine, but still I have lost a fair bit of detail from the clouds. Here is the cloud over the course of about half an hour as it changed its shape, though the first picture may have been a different cloud. There are slightly different color effects on each of these pictures. Apologies.

My goodness that's beautiful! Wow.

Yes, it was a really amazing view. I love seeing huge thunderheads like that. Sometimes they also have flashes of lightening in the dark bits, creating an awe-some statement of beauty and menace.

The third pic with the water reflection is (in my opinion) the standout photograph.

Even with an educational discount (which you should qualify for), Adobe Photoshop is rather pricey, but it's the industry standard and generally worth it. Although they make a cut down version, Photoshop Elements, you may find it to be a bit limiting though.

And you're still using that 750KB Bitmap image banner...

Yes, Peter, I think I am going to have to settle for lower functioning software for a while.

OK, the banner is fixed. Sometimes the compression messes either with the image or the text, but this time it seems to look acceptable.

I would have to say that number 2 is my favorite. Excellent shot. Keep up the good work Neil:)

Thank you, Courtney. That is encouraging. I have not shot anything other than people recently (wait a minute, that didn't come out right) and am looking forward to doing something different again.
