We Are Not Pregnant, Part Deux

In the aforementioned conversation about sympathetic male pregnancy, or a similar one at another time, I cannot precisely remember, I came up with an idea, which my friend, H, promised to illustrate. Here, just in time to supplement yesterday's post, is H's fine handiwork. Make sure you look at them in order. There is this and then this.

Brilliant. Thanks, H, for that lovely execution.

P.S. Here is the Dassler edit of that last drawing. And remember, gents, if you ever find yourself at the business end of that particular scalpel, don't try to be macho or cheap out and think you can recover without the aid a of jock (or "athletic supporter," if you will, which is a funny name isn't it, because it rather sounds like that would be a member of the booster club or something), because you can't, and it ain't pretty. Or so I've heard. There's a reason God let the women have the babies, because we're pretty much wusses when it comes to pain. Which reminds me of best practical joke that I thought of but didn't execute. When, er, shall we say, someone close to me had this procedure done, I really wanted to stop by Walmart and bring him a cap gun so that, in the short run, at least he would have something he could get up, and then also he could get used to, you know, only shooting blanks. I did tell about this intended gift, but somehow he didn't think it very funny.

Apologies for that PG-13 moment on an otherwise PG blog.

Very funny. And I'm sure the "dassler edit" is an accurate one, based on the stories I've heard.

This particular medical procedure is widespread, I think, even within the Christian community, which surprises me, I guess. It seems to be one of those topics that doesn't get mentioned until someone else says, "Well, we're done having kids... X got himself fixed last week." (or something like that, I'm not sure how or why it would get brought up in casual conversation). I've noticed that this brings out several other admissions of the same sort among a group of people. ("Oh, yeah, we did that, too.")

On another note, see what happens when you post on PG-13 topics?!? It brings out people like Mr. "Men Taking Action" above.

Renae, if one accepts that contraception is an option for Christians, then a vasectomy really seems the most logical form if one is done having kids. Interestingly enough, until recently, contraception was considered by even Protestants as not being the norm or perhaps even acceptable. At least that is what I heard/read some place. Perhaps that is one of the reason people are uncomfortable talking about it. And the fact that well people, perhaps men in particular, may not be comfortable talking about such anatomical issues.

Yes, the comment by Men Taking Action was interesting. He links to kind of a humorous Facebook group, so it is harmless. I was surprised, though, at how fast the comment came after I posted the post.

Great art work Miss Harbin! (Das- the talk was with, I believe, Ange, Anne, Heidi, and me at Bread Co...but maybe you talked about it with your house church too.)
