Indeed
Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side,
Those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified.
No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright.
Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed over the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.
His glories now we sing, Who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.
Crown Him the Lord of peace, Whose power a scepter sways
From pole to pole, that wars may cease, and all be prayer and praise.
His reign shall know no end, and round His piercèd feet
Fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet.

I was blessed with the serendipity of finding these flowers in cruciform and with a meaningful color pattern in the yard of my brother's neighbor this Easter afternoon.
He is risen!

These are gorgeous! Speaking of gorgeous, Jacob and I were driving to his grandparents on Easter, and the sun was shining through the clouds so that the rays looked like a huge veils hanging from heaven. It was breathtaking.

Heidi, that does sound lovely. I also like it when rain in the distance seems like grey, gauzy curtains. And this morning, coming in to the work, there was a great gash/tear/slit in the clouds, between two huge cloud banks which covered the sky, and it must have been 30+ miles long, and the light from the sunrise was shining through it in slanting rays. Lovely/brilliant. I spent a good part of the drive coming up with a better synonym than gash/tear/slit (they all were to violent for the scene). Finally, nearly driving into the parking lot, I came up with "seam," which was far more satisfying, which is often used in mining as well, as in a seam of gold or mithril. This was more gold than mithril though.

Mithril seam. Nice!

Mithril huh? I had to look that one up! It's from Tolkien's imagination. Kind of like silver but better in that it doesn't tarnish. The dwarvs mined it in Moria.

Yes, Laura, and it was what Bilbo/Frodo's wee coat was made out of that saved him when he got stabbed by the cave troll.
OK, I am going to stop now, because I don't know nearly enough to be a bonafide LOTR geek, though I was beginning to sound like one.
