Neil!!! I'm not a huge fan of Valentine's Day, but of all days to post two sermons about divorce!
Maybe I'll read them tommorow!

Laura, they are not about divorce, they are about marriage. Adrian agrees with a pastor who is his mentor, that before one preaches about divorce, one should preach on marriage.
I am ambivalent about Valentine's Day. I am sure I would mark it if dating or married, but it does all seem rather arbitrary, and it seems to leave much disappointment and envy in its wake, particularly (if I may make a gender related comment) for many women.
Regarding Valentine's Day and singleness in general, it seems that the happily hitched generally do not remember well, to paraphrase a favorite hymn, "the wormwood and the gall" that singleness can sometimes be. And no day accentuates this much as this one.

Man, today was the best at my job. All sorts of Valentine pranks went on, we had an ice cream cake, and we all wore black to honor my friend Jess' request.
(By valentine pranks, picture a trail of conversation hearts leading from the stairwell to your desk, picture said hearts flying threw the air and winging off the ceiling fan, picture anonymous notes and weird presents from coworkers, and picture outlandish, dusty old fake flowers and black roses being deposited on various desks!)
The best part of Valentine's at my job is that I am working to help women who have left abusive relationships to have an ok day in the shelter, so my current lack of relationship is not too devastating in contrast. Though the women feel vulnerable, we gave them a party in the evening that I think lifted their spirits. All in all, a pretty fun day at work.
